On my way to work a few days ago I came across this scene. A bit of nostalgia harkening back to a simpler time when man and beast had a more intimate connection to the land..
You don't see this much anymore..
But it's nice to see that it still exists...
You sure don't. When I was a child and lived in the country we had a day off from school for the horse pulling contests.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see some things are still around..thanks for your comment John
ReplyDeleteNot in the northeast. But the Amish still do things old school.
ReplyDeleteMike thanks for posting this.
Brk Trt, A few mile past these photos is a small community of Amish. I'm not sure if this particular person is a member or not but I wouldn't be surprised..thanks for the comment..

ReplyDeleteYou had to be in Amish country--my wife and I will be making a trip soon to a place in Tennessee. I really get into this kind of stuff---thanks for sharing
There is an Amish community close by, so your guess must be right on..thanks for stopping by Bill!
DeleteThanks Jim..
ReplyDeleteWe have a large community of Amish to the south of us, and always love driving through there. Do quite a bit of shopping there, too. Love to see them doing things the old way. Tugs at you a little.
ReplyDeleteIt really does Casey. My family were farmers from just after the Revolution until the 1950's and in my minds eye I can picture my grandfather doing the same..thanks for stopping by!
