Tis the season..mud that is...
The driveway is a mess. The baddest in many years..
Mud and ruts and standing water..
To and
fro..
But there are signs...
very good signs...
Has the back of winter been broken?
I'm not ready to go out on a limb to say that as I'm sure there will be more to come.
But..I can see the light and it won't be long before my
fly rods..
come down off their hooks and on to the brooks..
I hope you are right- I'm ready too. When I was young I fished a lot but have never tried fly fishing. Perhaps something new to learn.

ReplyDeleteHow do get away with racking your fly rod there? My wife is such a perfectionist when it comes to house management; that I might find my fly rods out in the yard the next day. As for the mud, that is the hazards of big snows I guess; I am not an expert in the snow area, being from the South. Thanks for sharing
I am pretty fortunate Bill..I started to take them down one day and she told me to put them back up and that she liked them there! Just imagine..Colder today and all the muck is firmed up pretty well but it's just lying in wait for the next warm day. Big snow and frozen water in the ground equals a mess, that's for sure..thanks for the comment
DeleteJohn it would be a nice fit for you and all the places you and Kelley hike..you should think about it..Thanks for the comment.
ReplyDeleteIt's broken my friend.
ReplyDeleteAnother month and the brookies will rise.
I like the sound of that Brk Trt! Thanks..
DeleteYep, Spring is in the air. 70s in Colorado for the next couple of days.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds great..we are a bit away from the 70's here in Maine but I would happily settle for 50..thanks for stopping by
DeleteIt's getting there. And isn't the smallest taste so sweet? Like your poem: "down off their hooks and on to the brooks." Soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jim..Yes spring is a sweet thing and tastes better every year..
DeleteIt is not broken yet- snow this week Mike.
ReplyDeleteAnd so it continues..thanks Peter..
