ReplyDeleteI loved jigging for smelt, then we would use a few for bait and catch some awesome browns.
Brk Trt, I used to do some myself, back in the day. Now I just observe from the warmth of my living room.

DeleteI did a lot of that in Michigan as a kid. Can't ever remember being colder ( we didn't have a shanty) . But the fish out of that cold water were so good.
ReplyDeleteI used to stand out on the ice with my ol' man when I was a kid..and boy do I remember how cold it was..except when the ice was clear of snow and we could skate..thnx for the comment John..

DeleteWell, first my apologies. I meant to link up with you a long time ago. I've never been to Maine but I can look and enjoy all day long. There sure is some wonderful fly fishing there.
ReplyDeleteJeeze cofisher..absolutely no apology necessary..I am extremely happy to have you aboard..There is a lot of great fly fishing here in Maine and I can't wait to get back out there..Some places are open all winter to fly chucking but way too cold for an old duffa' like me!
