Tessie The New Pup

Here is our new Guiding Eyes For The Blind project that just landed in our house yesterday. As you can see, Tessi is pesterning Big Ray who is a wonderful "big brother" to the little pups that end up here so he can help with their training. He's an eager participant because he gets training kibbles whenever the little ones do. My wife does an amazing job with these dogs, bringing out the immense potential in them to become guide dogs. I think this is the 12th pup that she has trained. We'll have Tessie, who is just over 4 months old, for about 12-14 months before she will go to "college" in Yorktown Heights New York.

How to Set Up a Fly Reel (Full)

One thing about getting back into fly fishing are all the great tips that are out there to make the experience less frustrating and more enjoyable..You would think that this video would be just a re-hash of very basic stuff but I actually learned a great deal from it..of course, I can learn a great deal from almost anything when it comes to fly fishing.

The Complete Angler - Full length version

This is a great show depicting Issac Walton and his book The Complete Angler. James Prosek goes to England and follows in Walton's footsteps to fish some of the rivers that Walton frequented in the 17th century.

Here is my house this morning, Jan. 22, the day after our snow. It may set back my ice fishing plans for this weekend but it is a beautiful winter sight to behold.

3 Small Streams

Less than 12 weeks for open water fishing in most streams and brooks here in Maine..My work place is a 25 minute drive from my home, thru hills and vales.

Directly on my route are numerous brooks that I've scouted out and put on my list to fish before and after work.

One of my favorite blogs..
Small Stream Reflections
has reminded me not to overlook those wonderful and rewarding experiences that abound on small waters ..

Above are winter photos of 3 of these small streams that I am so looking forward to fishing this coming spring!
